VISAKHAPATNAM: Cybercrime police arrested 48-year-old Thirumalashetti Kanaka Raju for harassing a woman through online chats. ADCP (CCS), DS Sravan Kumar said the accused is a resident of MVP Colony in Vizag city and he befriended a woman from the city, sometime ago, by posing himself as an HR professional of a Bengaluru-based software firm. He then promised to marry her and give her a job in the software company. The woman believed him and sent her resume, photos, and a few other educational documents to him. He then asked her to send some nude pictures and videos. Though she refused initially, she sent them with the hope that he would marry her and get a good job. However, he had been harassing her to send more nude photos and videos for the past few weeks and he also threatened to ‘expose’ her if she failed to do so. Unable to bear the harassment, she approached cybercrime police station on June 22. Later, the accused was arrested.
