Man arrested for Gold Coast murder over NSW border

A man has been arrested over the alleged murder of a Gold Coast man whose body was found in a house on Friday.

Detectives will seek the extradition of 26-year-old Coskun Marius after he was nabbed across the NSW border at Coffs Harbour on Sunday night.

The development comes after police investigating Dre Nova's death had said they wanted to question Mr Marius.

The body of Mr Nova was found in a recliner in a house in Surfers Paradise on Friday afternoon, allegedly bludgeoned to death.

Police believe Mr Nova and Mr Marius knew each other and regularly stayed at the Surfers Paradise property.

Acting Detective Inspector Matthew Ward is seeking assistance from members of the public who may have knowledge of this incident and the circumstances which lead to Mr Nova's death.

He said police were searching for a weapon.
