Man arrested for firearms offences after tear gas cannister found at his home

A man has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences after police found a tear gas cannister in his home.

Officers raided his house in Crumpsall this morning (Monday), police said. They found the CS gas - also known as tear gas - cannister inside.

The man was then arrested. Police posted about the arrest on the GMP Manchester North Facebook page this morning.

The post said: "#AGroup were out early this morning conducting a successful warrant in Crumpsall. A male has been arrested for Firearms offences for having a CS Gas cannister in his address.

"If you have any intelligence relating to Firearms please do not hesitate to call us. In an emergency 999, non-emergency 101. #AGroup. #CSGasIsClassedAsAFirearm."
