Man arrested after car crashes into house in Bedminster

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car smashed into a house in Bedminster last night.

The 29-year-old, who has not been named, was arrested in St John’s Road, close to the car park entrance to Asda Bedminster, last night (February 7) at around 11.30pm.

Images show a blue car partially embedded in the back of a house on the corner of St John’s Road and Brook Road, with damage to both the car and the house.

A spokesperson from Avon and Somerset police said no one was hurt in the incident.

“A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a road traffic collision in which a car collided with a house in St John’s Road at approximately 11.25pm last night,” he said.

“Significant damage was caused to the property but thankfully no one was hurt.

“The man has since been released under investigation and enquiries into the incident are ongoing,” he added.
