A man has been arrested after being found carrying a huge knife in the street in Oldham.
Officers on patrol were first called to Oldham Road in Failsworth earlier today. There had been reports of a man with a knife, police sid.
A 23-year-old man was stopped and searched at the scene. Police then discovered the large blade.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in police custody.
Police shared a picture of the huge knife on GMP Traffic's Twitter account. Alongside the photo, an officer wrote: "Earlier today, #RPU patrols attended at Oldham Rd, #Failsworth to reports of a male with a knife.
"A 23 year old male was stopped & searched and #arrested on suspicion of having possession of an offensive weapon and remains in custody."
