A man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing at a shopping centre has now been released with no further action.
Police were called to Middleton Shopping Centre on Saturday afternoon (August 14) following reports that a man had received five stab wounds.
A man in his 40s was rushed to hospital in a 'serious but non-life-threatening condition, according to officers.

A knife was also recovered close to the scene, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed.
In a statement afterwards, Chief Inspector Trevor Harrison said: "It is quite shocking that an incident such has this has taken place in broad daylight in the middle of a busy Saturday, and at this time we are unsure for the motive behind this senseless attack and exactly who was involved.
"Ir is vital that a thorough investigation takes place, and with that I appeal to anyone with information or video footage to contact us with as much detail as they possibly can."

Today (August 16), GMP said that the man they arrested has been released with no further action and that enquiries are ongoing.
A force spokesman also said that they would not be in a position to confirm details surrounding the victim at this stage.
