Dublin Live has contacted An Garda Siochana for more details.

This is not the only horse-related incident gardai have had to deal with recently. Yesterday they also reported a fatal traffic collision involving a car and a stray horse.

The tragic incident happened on the northbound lane of the N2 at Creevy near Carrickmacross, County Monaghan on Saturday 7 January. The front seat passenger in the car, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The two other occupants in the car, both adult men, were assessed at the scene by Emergency Services Personnel, but didn’t require hospital treatment. The horse died on impact.
