Man arrested following unprovoked attack on concert reveler in Malahide Castle

A man in his 20s has been arrested after a concert-goer was left with a broken nose and eye-socket after an unprovoked attack in North Dublin.

A music reveller enjoying a night out in Malahide for Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds had his night ruined after being attacked from behind during the gig.

The victim suffered a broken nose and eye-socket and had to be taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.

A garda spokesperson told Dublin Live that one person was arrested in connection with the incident which happened towards the end of the show.

They said: "Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault on a male in his 40s that occurred at Malahide Castle, Malahide at approximately 11pm on 16th June 2019.

"The man received facial injuries and was taken to Beaumont Hospital.

"A male in his late 20s was arrested in connection with the incident. He was released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP."
