Man arrested following serious assault in North Ayrshire street

A man has been arrested following a serious assault in Ayrshire.

The 47-year-old has been charged following the incident in Glebe Street, Saltcoats, North Ayrshire.

The man is set to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to a serious assault in Glebe Street, Saltcoats, that was reported around 10.50am on Friday,  August 16."

"He is scheduled to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today (Monday, August 19)."
