A man has been arrested after an 85-year-old woman was assaulted during an attempted raid of her home.
Police have revealed a 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident which took place on Sunday, April 14.
Police had issued appeals after the elderly woman with dementia was hospitalised as a result of the assault on Hawthornhill Road, Dumbarton.
The man is due to appear before Dumbarton Sheriff Court today.
