A man has been arrested following the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man in northwest London.
Malakai Ferguson-Ramson was stabbed in the chest during an altercation on Ashmore Road in Kilburn, at around 8.50pm on Tuesday May 26.
Police and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene, but Mr Ferguson-Ramson was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics.
His family is being supported by specialist officers.
Residents on the road recalled hearing laughter and multiple bikes being driven up the street ahead of the incident.
One woman said she heard an "awful scream" soon after the altercation, before "at least seven police cars" along with paramedics arrived.
She said: “It’s so sad, because it’s a young boy I believe, some mum is going through hell at the moment and it must be horrible.
"They were having fun and they were really laughing and then the next moment there was screaming, and I knew then something was different. It just went wrong in two minutes."
A post-mortem examination conducted on Thursday confirmed that Malakai died from a single stab wound to the chest.
Officers arrested a 42-year-old man on Thursday on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
He has since been bailed pending further enquiries, while the investigation continues.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are working at pace to identify those involved in Malakai's murder and have already made one arrest in connection with the investigation.
“Our investigation continues and I would ask that anyone with information about what happened or video footage of the incident gets in touch with my officers.
“My thoughts remain with Malakai's family and all those affected by his tragic death.”
Anyone with information has been urged to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 8418/26MAY or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
