Man arrested following death of 48-year-old in Airdrie High Street

A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man, 48, in a disturbance in Airdrie.

Officers were called to the town’s High Street around 4.40pm yesterday (Sunday, April 12).

The 48-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, Police Scotland confirmed.

A spokesperson said today: “Police can confirm that a man, 38, has been arrested in connection with the death of a 48-year-old man in Airdrie.

“A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”

In an update this evening (Monday April 13), police confirmed: "a 38-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 48-year-old man in Airdrie.

"A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course and the man is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court tomorrow. (Tuesday, 14 April, 2020)."
