Man arrested following alleged rape in Sittingbourne woodland

A man has been arrested following an alleged sex attack in Sittingbourne.

It is alleged a woman was raped by a man in woodland area between Harrier Drive and Osprey Court in the early hours of Saturday.

Detectives arrested a 21-year-old man from Sittingbourne on suspicion of rape at 7pm on the same day. He remains in custody.

Enquiries are ongoing and police have seized CCTV and cordoned off the area to allow for forensic examination of the scene.
