Man arrested by police after being spotted walking naked through city centre

Police descended on Bristol city centre during the weekend after a man was spotted walking naked through Broadmead.

Officers were called to the scene shortly after 11am on Sunday, March 8 by concerned passers-by who saw the man, who is in his 30s.

One witness said he saw him walk from Primark in the Horsefair to Newgate next to Castle Park, where he was arrested by police officers for indecent exposure.

Avon and Somerset Police has since confirmed the man was then de-arrested before being taken to hospital.

A police spokesman confirmed to Bristol Live: "We were called at 11.22am and a man in his 30s was originally arrested for indecent exposure.

"After being arrested initially, he was later de-arrested and taken to hospital for treatment for mental health-related issues."
