Man arrested before Old Firm game as police disperse large group in Glasgow

A man has been arrested after police were called to a large group of people gathered before the Old Firm game on Sunday.

Cops attended an incident on Paisley Road West after receiving a report of anti-social behaviour.

It is understood to have involved a large group of football fans who were on their way to Ibrox for the game against Celtic.

One man was arrested in connection with a breach of the peace.

Local reports detailed about 15 police vehicles all on the street as cops halted the group of people who were thought to be walking to the game.

They dispersed them and allowed them to leave separately to get to Ibrox.

Rangers beat their Glasgow rivals Celtic 1-0 at the game, which kicked off at 12pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received report of anti-social behaviour involving a large group gathered on Paisley Road West near to Shieldhall Road in Glasgow around 11am.

"Officers attended and the group were dispersed."
