A MAN arrested at Lake Munmorah and charged with stabbing a 49-year-old to death in Sydney's west nearly a year ago has been refused bail.
Samir Chamma, 29, appeared in Wyong Local Court late on Wednesday charged with murder, robbery in company and aggravated break and enter.
He did not enter any pleas or apply for bail and the matter was adjourned until January.
Police said emergency services were called to Budgeree Road, Toongabbie about 10.30pm on November 15 last year and found 49-year-old Warwick Hunter on the footpath suffering multiple stab wounds.
Despite the efforts of emergency services and members of the public, Mr Hunter died at the scene.
Parramatta police established a crime scene and launched an investigation before Homicide Squad detectives took over under Strike Force Burranjurra.
Following extensive inquiries and a public appeal for information, Mr Chamma was arrested at a house at Lake Munmorah about 7am on Wednesday.
He was later charged and refused bail.
