A man was arrested after a woman suffered injuries to her face.
Emergency services were called to a property on Upper Parliament Street, Toxteth, to reports of an assault. At the scene, at around 6.50pm, on Tuesday, November 15, they found a woman had suffered face and ankle injuries.
She was taken to hospital for assessment. Police arrested a 42-year-old man at the scene, on suspicion of section 47 assault following what was described by police as a domestic incident. He will be held in custody for questioning.

A spokesperson for Merseyside police : "We have arrested a man on suspicion of section 47 assault following a domestic incident in Toxteth. At around 6.50pm on Tuesday 15 th November, officers attended a property on Upper Parliament Street following a report of an assault.
"A 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene for section 47 assault. A woman was taken to hospital for assessment to facial injuries and an ankle injury."
