Man arrested as woman rushed to hospital after ‘incident’ at Scots bus station

A man has been arrested in connection with an incident at Hamilton Bus Station which saw a woman rushed to hospital.

The alarm was raised at around 12.40pm on Saturday, September 11, with emergency services called to the scene on Brandon Street.

Eye witnesses reported seeing uniformed officers and two ambulances at the busy travel hub in the town centre.

Police Scotland have now confirmed that a man has been arrested in connection.

Officers continue to carry out enquiries to determine how the woman came to be hurt.

A force spokesperson said: “Around 12.40pm, police received a report a woman had been injured in Brandon Street, Hamilton.

“Officers attended and the woman was taken to hospital.

"A man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
