A MAN has been arrested after a woman was found injured and a body was discovered in a flat in Ardrossan.
Police were called to a property in the town’s Montgomerie Street around 8.25pm after a disturbance broke out.
When the force arrived, the body of a 59-year-old man was discovered within a flat and his family has been made aware.
A 24-year-old woman was found injured outside a block of flats and was taken to Crosshouse Hospital.
Officers confirmed a 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
There is still a police presence in the area at this time and enquiries remain ongoing.
