A man has been arrested following the death of a woman in Dublin 15.
Gardai and paramedics were called to Willow Wood in Hartstown at around mid-day today to a suspected domestic violence incident.
A number of units, including the Armed Support Unit and Dublin Fire Brigade ambulances were called to the scene.
Crowds gathered in the estate as the scene was taped off by gardai.
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí in Blanchardstown are currently at the scene of a fatal assault at a house in Willow Wood, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.
"A woman (age unknown) received fatal injuries as a result of the incident. Her body remains at the scene.
"A man (age unknown) has been arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Blanchardstown Garda Station."
