Man arrested as victim in Tower Hamlets fatal stabbing named

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a young Lithuanian died almost a week after a stabbing in Tower Hamlets.

Police were scrambled to reports on a fight on St Anne’s Row last Saturday.

Karalius Paulius, 24, was taken to hospital after being stabbed near his home in Limehouse at just before 1am.

He died the following Friday after medics lost their battle to save his life.

His next of kin have been informed and a post mortem is yet to be held.

The Met said in a statement: “On the afternoon of Saturday, 13 November, a 38-year-old man was re-arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been taken into police custody. This man is one of five males previously arrested by detectives investigating the incident.

“The four other males previously arrested in connection with this incident are no longer in police custody. Enquiries continue in relation to these four people.”
