Man arrested as police swoop on 'suspicious activity' in Glasgow city centre

A man has been arrested after police raced to the scene of a 'suspicious' incident in Glasgow.

Officers were called to reports of 'suspicious activity' on Bell Street in the city centre around 3pm on Saturday March 27.

Pictures from the scene show a number of officers outside a block of flats, with reports of forensic teams also in attendance.

Police confirmed they were in attendance this afternoon and that a man had been cuffed.

The circumstances surrounding the 'suspicious activity' are not known at this time.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of suspicious activity in Bell Street around 3pm, officers attended and a man has been arrested.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
