A man has been arrested by police following the death of a 20-year-old woman.
Detectives from the PSNI's Serious Crime Branch investigating the circumstances surrounding the 'suspicious death' in Newry today have detained a male aged 23, Belfast Live reports.
Police say the woman was found dead at her home in Drumalane Park in Newry this morning.
A spokesperson added: "The investigation is at an early stage and police are currently not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.
"There are no further details at this time."
Sinn Fein Newry/Armagh MP Mickey Brady said: “There is a sense of shock within the local community at the news.
"Investigations by the police are at an early stage and I would appeal for anyone with information about the incident to contact the police.”
