A man has been arrested after gardai seized four shotguns and a revolver from a car in Dublin.
The search was carried out by gardai in the Tallaght area of the capital when officers on routine patrol spotted a vehicle driving at speed at around 9.50pm.
After a pursuit, the car stopped at Ardmore Gardens, where the driver remained in the vehicle while two others escaped on foot.
The car was searched and gardai discovered the weapons, three of which had previously been reported stolen.

A garda spokesman said: "The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 40s, was arrested and is currently detained at Tallaght Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act 1939.
"Investigations are ongoing."
