Man arrested as cocktail of drugs worth €221,000 seized during Finglas raid

A man has been arrested and cocaine and cannabis has been seized following a raid on a house in Finglas.

The search was carried out on Saturday night at around 9.30pm and a number of drugs were found on the premises.

Cannabis herb and resin, along with cocaine were found, with a street value of around €221,000.

Heroin, ectasy and cigarettes were seized.

A man in his 40s was also arrested and is currently being detained at Finglas garda station.

A garda spokeswoman said: "As part of an intelligence led operation targeting organised crime and the sale and supply of drugs in the Finglas area, Gardaí from the Drugs Unit in Finglas and Community Action Team carried out a search under warrant at a house in Dunsink Green, Finglas on Saturday night, 25th May, 2019.

"The search took place at 9.30p.m. approximately and during the course of the search, cannabis herb, cannabis resin and cocaine was seized with an estimated street value of approximately €221,000 (subject to analysis). 

"A small amount of heroin, ecstasy and cigarettes were also seized with other drug paraphernalia.

"Gardaí arrested one man at the house (late 40s) and he was conveyed to Finglas Garda Station where he is currently detained under  Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act, 1996."

Investigations are ongoing.
