Man arrested and rushed to hospital with serious injuries after knife incident in Glasgow

A man has been arrested and rushed to hospital with serious injuries following an incident with a knife in Glasgow.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene on Wyndford Road in the Maryhill area of the city this morning at around 8am.

Multiple police vans were in attendance and a man was later taken into a medical van.

Cops confirmed the man, aged 35, was arrested but had to be taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary due to the nature of his injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a disturbance involving a knife within a flat on Wyndford Road, Maryhill, around 8am on Tuesday, 16 June, 2020.

"A 35-year-old man has been arrested and taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with a serious injury to his hand as a result of the disturbance."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 08:10 hours to attend an incident at Wyndford Road, Maryhill, Glasgow.

"An ambulance was dispatched and a male patient was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”
