A man has been arrested after a shop was robbed in broad daylight in East Renfrewshire.
Officers were called to Main Street in Busby on Wednesday.
The alarm was raised at around 2.25pm.
Locals speculated that the robbery took place at 'Busby Village Newsagent' and that a 'police helicopter' was 'hovering over the area'.
Officers confirmed that they remain on the scene.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police did not disclose what was stolen in the robbery.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
It is not known at this stage if officers are working to trace anyone else who may have been involved.
Enquiries are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Record: "At around 2.25pm on Wednesday August 25, 2021, police received a report of a robbery in Main Road, Busby.
"Officers are currently on scene.
"A man has been arrested.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
