Man arrested and charged over death of William Duncan at Glasgow property

A man has been arrested and charged by police in connection the death of William Duncan in Glasgow.

The 55-year-old's body was found at an address on Glenalmond Street in the city's east end at around 11am on Thursday February 3.

Forensic cops and detectives descended on the scene after officers were called to a report of a concern for person, shocking locals.

His brother Steven has since paid tribute to his sibling, saying: "We are shocked and devastated at the death of my brother William and he will be sorely missed."

Police opened a murder probe into William's death following the incident in Sandyhills, stepping up patrols as they carried out "significant door to door enquiries".

Following an investigation, local cops have detained a 37-year-old man in connection with the incident.

He is set to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday February 14.

Officers have since thanked the public for their help.

Detective Chief Inspector Frank Travers, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigations Team, said: “I would like thank the local community for their help and assistance throughout this investigation and to those who came forward with significant information.”
