Man arrested and charged in connection with robbery spree in Aberdeenshire

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery and attempted robbery in Aberdeenshire.

The 48-year-old was cuffed following the incidents, which both took place in Marischal Street, Peterhead on Friday November 20.

The road, lined with both business premises and residential homes, runs through the busy town centre.

He is due to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Monday.

Police who conducted the investigation assured locals that the robbery and attempted robbery were 'isolated incidents'.

Officers also urged anyone concerned about violent or suspicious behaviour to get in touch via 101.

Detective Sergeant Kate Coyle said: "Thank you to the members of the public who assisted with our enquiries.

"I'd like to reassure the community that this was an isolated incident.

"There is no place for violence in our communities.

"Anyone with concerns about violent or suspicious behaviour should call police on 101, ideally at the time it occurs."
