A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with importing a firearm and ammunition.
Cops were carrying out an intelligence led operation in Fife today before making the arrest.
The man is expected to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court tomorrow and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Today's operation was part of an initiative tackling serious crime - the Organised Crime Partnership - as law enforcement agencies work together and share information.
The covert investigation team is made up of staff from Police Scotland and the National Crime Agency.
