Man arrested and charged after £123k cannabis plant raid

A man has been arrested and charged after a £120,000 drugs bust in Inverclyde.

Police descended on a property in Jean Street, Port Glasgow on Tuesday.

Officers raided the scene and recovered cannabis plants.

The estimated street value is over £123,000.

On Thursday police confirmed that a 26-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Police commended cops who conducted the search warrant and urge anyone with information on drugs being produces and sold int heir area to come forward.

Chief Inspector Paul Cameron said :“This was excellent work by Inverclyde’s local Community Policing Team.

“We continue tackle the production and sale of drugs across Inverclyde and I would encourage anyone with any concerns about suspicious activity in their area to contact us.

"The information we receive from the public is vital and allows us to carry out enforcement activity.

“Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101.

"Or if you wish to remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
