Man arrested after young woman seriously assaulted at swimming pool in Co Wexford

A man was arrested after a young woman was seriously assaulted at a swimming pool in Co Wexford.

The incident happened at around 1.30pm on Wednesday at the Leisure Centre in Courtown.

Gardai revealed that a woman in her mid-20s was the victim of a serious assault.

A man, who is also in his mid-20s, was detained this evening and is currently being held at Enniscorthy Garda Station.

A garda spokesman added that investigations are still ongoing.
