A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a young woman was found dead near a block of flats in Enfield.
The woman in her 20s was found injured on Turkey Street just before 6pm on Sunday but was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called to Brookbank, Turkey Street, EN1 at 17.49hrs on Sunday, 7 April by London Ambulance Service.
“A woman, aged in her 20s, was found injured in the street and was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
“A man was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and he has been taken to a north London police station.
“Next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination and formal identification will take place in due course.
“A police cordon remains in place and officers will be in the area while initial investigations are carried out.
“Residents are encouraged to speak with officers if they have any information which could help enquiries, or if they have any concerns.”
