Man arrested after woman is shot in Bradford

A man has been arrested after a woman was shot in Bradford.

The woman, who is in her 50s, remains in hospital after she suffered gunshot wounds on Sunday, September 29.

Armed police and paramedics were called to a property in Barkerend Road at 11.24pm after shots were heard.

West Yorkshire Police officers have arrested a 30-year-old man from Huddersfield in connection with the incident. He is remains in custody and is being questioned by police.

In a statement, West Yorkshire Police said the victim "remains in a stable condition" and "enquiries are ongoing".

Police have also been running extra patrols in the area, since the shooting, to try and reassure the public.
