Man arrested after victim suffers 'serious head injury'

A man has been arrested following an incident in Bradley Stoke last night (August 25).

Police attended Honeysuckle Close at around 9pm and found four victims who had been injured.

One person had suffered a serious head injury and another a facial injury.

The police cordon is still in place this morning and we are reporting live updates on this incident.

Police arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of wounding.

Several people in the area said they heard screams last night as the incident was unfolding.

Vicky Stone, who lives in Honeysuckle Close, said: “It was a complete commotion last night. We could hear screams but we thought it might just be people being loud having a BBQ.

“Now we know what it was it makes you think if only we had gone out to help, but then maybe we too could’ve been injured.”

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "We were called to reports of disturbance in the Honeysuckle Close area Bradley Stoke last night (Sunday) at about 9pm.

"There appeared to be disorder between two groups of people in the street, who had been involved in separate parties.

"Four victims were identified, one of whom suffered a serious head injury and another, a facial injury.

"A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of wounding and remains in police custody.

"Police enquiries into the incident are continuing. Anyone with information should contact us quoting reference 5219196142."
