A man was arrested in Anfield after a 30-year-old was stabbed in the stomach.
The victim was rushed to hospital after police and paramedics were called to a house on Manningham Road at around 4.20pm on Tuesday afternoon.
At the property, a man was found injured before being taken for treatment.
A witness told the ECHO that an air ambulance landed in nearby Breckside Park as police cordoned off the area.
A short time after they arrived at the scene, a 26-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody.
Forensic officers were seen on Manningham Road and Lynholme Road where it is believed that a knife was found.
In a statement, Merseyside Police said the victim's injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
The force added: "We have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing in Anfield this afternoon, Tuesday 18 May.
"At around 4.20pm, emergency services were called to an address on Manningham Road to reports that a man had been stabbed.
"The victim, a 30-year-old man from Liverpool, was taken to hospital for treatment to a non-life-threatening wound to his abdomen.
"Witness and forensic enquiries are being carried out.
"Following enquiries, a 26-year-old man from Anfield was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent. He remains in custody for questioning."
