Man arrested after vehicle is searched

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in south Bristol after police conducted a stop and search.

The man was taken into custody after officers found suspected cannabis in his vehicle, at around 5.50pm, on Monday (June 15).

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "Police stopped and checked a car in Cannon Street, Bedminster, at about 5.30pm on Monday.

"Following a search of the vehicle, a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis.

"He remains in police custody at the time of writing."
