Man arrested after two NSW stab deaths

A man has been arrested after the bodies of two people were found at a house in Oberon, NSW. (AAP)

A man has been arrested after two people were found stabbed to death at a home in Oberon in the NSW central tablelands region.

The pair - a man and a woman - were found dead with stab wounds on Friday in a house at On-Avon Avenue. They are yet to be formally identified.

A 46-year-old man was subsequently arrested at Penrith in western Sydney and has been taken to Nepean Hospital under police guard.

NSW Police said the 46-year-old knew the dead man and woman.

He is yet to be charged.
