A man has been arrested after two machine guns were seized from a Dublin home in a late night raid by gardai.
Officers from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) searched the premises in the north inner city on Thursday evening.
During the raid gardai found two firearms, which are both believed to be machine guns, as well as ammunition.
A 48-year-old man was arrested as part of the investigation and is currently being held at Mountjoy garda station in the city.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) searched a premises located in Dublin’s north inner city last night.
"In the course of this search, two firearms, believed to be machine guns, and a quantity of ammunition were located and seized.
"A 48 year old man has been arrested and is being detained at Mountjoy Garda Station."
Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll, who heads Organised and Serious Crime, said: "An Garda Síochána, through Organised and Serious Crime and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau in particular, continues in it's unrelenting determination to take lethal firearms off the streets of Ireland in its ongoing efforts to keep people safe."
