Man arrested after two injured in alleged West Lothian chainsaw attack

A man has been arrested after a major police incident in West Lothian late last night.

Several police vehicles and a helicopter were deployed to Rowan Place in Blackburn at around 10.10pm on Wednesday evening.

One 35-year-old man was left with serious injuries to his arm in the in the incident reportedly involving a chainsaw, but is believed to be in a stable condition.

Another was also hurt at the scene, but his injuries have been described as minor.

Police Scotland has confirmed that a 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged attempted murder of a 35-year-old man in Rowan Place on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.

“Officers would like to thank the public for their assistance and patience during this enquiry which has seen a number of specialist resources in the Blackburn area."
