Man arrested after two hour roof stand off

A man has been recalled to prison following a two hour stand-off on the roof of a house.

Police and fire and rescue services were called just after 10am today, April 13, to reports of the man on the roof of a terraced house on The Grove, Wallasey.

A neighbour reported seeing multiple fire engines and police vehicles, including unmarked police cars, in the street at approximately 12pm.

A police spokesman said: "The male has now come down and has been arrested and recalled to prison."

A Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews were alerted at 10.07am and three fire engines and the search and rescue team were on scene at 10.15am.

"Our crews were assisting Merseyside Police and left the scene at 12.08pm."
