Man arrested after two cars stolen from home in Alderley Edge

A man from Manchester has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after two cars were stolen from a home in Alderley Edge.

The 23-year-old was held after a break-in in Hough Lane, which was reported to police on Wednesday (May 19).

Detectives launched an investigation. One of the cars has been recovered.

Enquiries are continuing.

DS Stephen Joyce said: “I’d urge anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area over the past few days, or anyone with dash cam or cctv that may help us, to contact us.

“Recent burglaries in the area will obviously cause some concern to residents, but I’d like to reassure you that we are working tirelessly to deter burglars, and are thoroughly investigating the recent incidents.

“I’d like to take the opportunity to urge residents to report suspicious activity to help us make the county a no go area for thieves.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting IML 991506; or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
