Man arrested after thousands of euro worth of suspected cannabis seized in Ballymun raid

A young man has been arrested following a seizure of €17,000 worth of suspected cannabis in north Dublin.

Gardai searched a property at an undisclosed address in Ballymun on Monday where they discovered the haul.

Following the search, a young man in his 20s was arrested at the scene.

The man has since been charged and will appear in the Criminal Courts of Justice later this month.

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told Dublin Live: "Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s and seized €17,000 worth of suspected cannabis following a search operation in Ballymun, shortly before 8:30pm yesterday evening, Monday 13th September 2021.

"The drugs were discovered during a planned search of house by the local Drugs Units. The man has since been charged and is due to appear before the CCJ on the 30th September 2021."
