A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a young woman was found dead in Kent on Christmas day.
Police discovered the body of a 19-year-old woman after they were called to a home in Maidstone at 1.18pm.
A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death and the two are believed to have been known to each other.
The crime scene has been secured by forensic examiners and a full murder investigation has been launched.
The man is currently being held in custody.
A statement from Kent Police said: "A 27-year-old man from Maidstone has been arrested by officers investigating a suspicious death.
"Officers attended a property in London Road, Maidstone during the afternoon of Tuesday 25 December where a 19-year-old woman was confirmed deceased.
"Both parties were believed to be known to each other."
Police are continuing their inquiries and a murder investigation has been launched.
The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
