Man arrested after teen stabbed during fight at The Core Shopping Centre

Police have arrested a 18-year-old man after a teenager will stabbed in the arm following a fight at The Core Shopping Centre.

The force received reports of a group becoming involved in a fight in the Leeds shopping centre on The Headrow at around 7pm yesterday (Sunday).

The 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon after officers found a knife nearby.

West Yorkshire Police then spoke to a 16-year-old boy, who had attended Leeds General Infirmary with stab injuries to his arm.

He was also arrested on suspicion of affray, along with another 16-year-old boy.

The injured male was released under investigation to continue receiving treatment. His injuries were not considered life threatening. The other youth and the 18-year-old man both remain in custody.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. Anyone with any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Leeds District CID via 101 quoting crime reference 13190603818 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
