Police have arrested a man after a teenager was grabbed from behind and threatened in Wishaw.
On Saturday at approximately 6.15pm, an 18-year-old man was walking down Hill Street when he was grabbed from behind.
Police say an ‘unknown implement’ was held to his throat and his attacker demanded cigarettes.
The teenager managed to break free and run to Girdwood’s pub where police were called.
A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed that a 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
He is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court tomorrow (Tuesday).
