Man arrested after store robbed at knifepoint in Dublin

A man was arrested following an armed robbery in Dublin.

Gardai were alerted to the incident at a retail premises in Churchtown, Dublin 16 early this morning. A man entered a store on Braemor Road armed with what was understood to be a knife.

The man threatened the staff and fled with a quantity of alcohol. A garda spokesman said: "Shortly afterwards a man in his 20s was arrested in relation to this incident. He is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Rathfarnham Garda station.
