Man arrested after serious assault in North Cornelly

A man has been arrested after reports of a serious assault in Bridgend on Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to reports of a serious assault in Bryn Amlwg, North Cornelly shortly after 11am.

South Wales Police said a man in his 20s was receiving treatment for his injuries, which were not thought to be life-threatening.

In a statement, the police force said: "A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody."

Detective Inspector Simon Morgan said police were not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

He added: "We are aware videos of the incident have been circulating online, and I'd urge people not to speculate about the incident, and to use social media responsibly.
