Man arrested after serious assault at Cathcart flats

A man has been arrested after a serious assault at a tenement block in Cathcart.

A 30-year-old man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after being attacked, as emergency services arrived on the scene of Tulloch Street in Glasgow's south side shortly after 10pm last night (Monday).

Police have today confirmed a 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.10pm on Monday, 1 June we were called to reports of a disturbance within a common close on Tulloch Street.

“Officers attended and a 30-year-old man was found to have been seriously assaulted. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment where he remained overnight for observation.

“A 47-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.”
