Man arrested after robbery at Scots Burger King drive-thru

One man has been arrested and charged in connection with a late-night robbery at a branch of Burger King.

Police launched an appealed yesterday after two men with their faces obscured by clothing struck in Elgin , Morayshire.

They allegedly demanded money from staff at the restaurant in the town’s Ashgrove Road at about 11.50pm on Sunday.

Hundreds of pounds was stolen but police said the money was later recovered.

A 40-year-old has been held and is due to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Detective Sergeant John Lumsden said: “This was a very frightening experience for the staff involved and I want to thank all those who came forward with information.

“Inquiries are ongoing and we are still seeking assistance from the public.”
